FAQ

Where is your office?

1545 Hotel Cir South San Diego, CA 92016. However, we are only offering tele-health sessions at this time.

So, technically, our office is your couch or the most comfortable part of your home. 🙂

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, for individual therapy. We accept Aetna, Cigna, Health Net Medi-cal and MHN Medi-cal.

We are in the process of being credentialed with Cencal, Medi-cal, Tricare HNFS, Kaiser, Blue Sheild Promise, Beacon, Blue Cross Medi-Cal, and Caloptima.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?
If we are out-of-network with your insurance carrier, we will provide you a Superbill (a fancy name for an invoice) monthly so that you can submit it to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for services. Usually reimbursement rates vary between 50-90% depending on which insurance you have.

You can also pay for services with your HSA card.

What are your hours?

Our transition ours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM PST. We have some weekend availability, please ask us!

How long are your sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. If you’d like to schedule a longer session, we can arrange that ahead of time.

We generally recommend that you attend once a week.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 48-hour advanced notice of cancellation is required. If advanced notice is not provided, you will be required to pay a cancellation fee.

Our time and your time are valuable, so we want to make sure that therapy is your priority!

What forms of payment do you accept?

Several forms of payment are accepted: credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover), Venmo, and Zelle.

How do I make an appointment?

Contacting us is easy! You can fill out the Contact form, or call/text us at (949) 245-7442.

With whom do you work?

Generally, we see teenagers to adults (ages 13 to 75+). We work with LGBTQ+, couples, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

But, please, don’t be shy: We welcome everyone in my practice regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, or cultural background.

What can I expect in a first session?

We understand you might be nervous (especially if this is your first time to therapy)… We are here to guide you and make you feel at ease.

We will send you some paperwork to get started on before we meet. This paperwork will go over any questions we have during our first session. It allows us to dive right into therapy!

Our first session will be similar to a conversation with a friend. We ask you questions about your life to understand what’s going on with you better. We will set some goals to get you headed in the right direction!

What do you actually do in sessions with clients?

We are here to talk about what is important to YOU. We can talk about anything on your mind or heart.

We will process your week and talk through your most urgent issues and biggest problems in our weekly sessions. We’ll work on finding coping tools, digging in deeper, rearranging negative thought patterns, and working toward your goals.

Generally, we do a lot of listening to you. It’s up to you what you’d like to share. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to talk about; we do this for a living and will make you feel comfortable.

We will provide you feedback and insight so you can create peace in your life. We will be on your side and validate you, and will challenge you when we find it necessary.
